OKTO TV

It was a great pleasure for me to present three episodes of Perspektivenwechsel in Austrian Sign Language on OKTO TV.

Perspektivenwechsel was honored at the 53rd Television Prize for Adult Education in 2021 and entered its third season in June 2022.

OKTO provides a platform for people with no prior connections or experience in the TV industry to break into the field—a space for everyone, free from the pressure of chasing high ratings. OKTO enriches Austria’s media landscape, making it more diverse and colorful.

I hope you enjoy this fantastic show!

#Elterschaft & Behinderung

Why is parenthood and disability still such a taboo topic? What experiences has Claudia Miler had? And what advice does she offer to others with disabilities who dream of having children?

#Assistenzhunde

Today, we’re talking about man’s best friend—the dog. Specifically, assistance dogs. Joining us in the studio is “Trainer for Humans and Animals” Laura Gentile and her assistance dog, Lychee.

What types of assistance dogs are there? How are they trained? And what impressive assistance skills does Laura’s dog, Lychee, have? All this and more in this episode of Perspektivenwechsel.

#Tiergestützte Intervention

Michaela Jeitler heads the Center for Animal-Assisted Pedagogy in Vienna. At Schottenhof, nestled in the Vienna Woods, people with and without disabilities can interact with guinea pigs, goats, donkeys, and horses in a tranquil setting.

Why do humans and animals share such a special bond? What types of animal-assisted interventions exist? And how does equine pedagogy—being carried on a horse’s back—impact the body and mind?

We explore how Schottenhof brings joy and enriches lives.
